LOVE LOST

Oh! such pain
letting love slip
out of my palms
how could I've been
so vain, so vain.

Now I cry
over my loss
as I realise
over the love lost
in vain , in vain.

My heart burns
and the tears drain
but futile my despair
and it remains
my pain ,my pain

I drift through
this world
with many like me
hiding the tears
in the rain , in the rain

  1. Then there's another, and joy comes again and again. Loved the way you ended each verse.

  5. Losing a person one loves is very painful. The last stanza is wonderful. I especially like the repetition in the last line. The rain definitely does hide tears. But hopefully also WASH them away.

  6. It really completed itself with the ending line, in the rain, in the rain. I really felt that! Love the style! It reminded me of a lost love once in the rain on a busy street in London. I couldn't breath, and hardly noticed all the people. I had frozen in time with pain. You brought amazing imagery alive in so few words. I liked the line - the tears drain but futile my despair. Great poemm!

  8. I echo Abin.......the one thing about such times of pain is - they ease, life becomes good again, and love can once more be found.
